South Carolina 811 (SC811) strives each year to advance the tools and knowledge of operators and excavators across the state. It is mandatory (§ 58-36-90(a)) in South Carolina for excavators to report facility damages to the Operator as well as SC811. The data collected is used to gauge trends and forecast educational opportunities to reduce damages long term.

The below data represents the three different sources of damage data we collect:

• Emergency Reported - An emergency notification was called in and associated to a damage.
• Member Reported - Damages to an Operator’s infrastructure reported by them.
• Excavator Reported - Damage reports received as required for excavator reporting.
